Job Title: Electrician
Department: Base Operations and Maintenance
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems to include low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems. The electrician will test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems with a strong understanding of electrical controls and schematics.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment
-
Testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans, or other transmission equipment
-
Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings

Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables
-
Ensures piping complies with electrical codes
-
Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them
-
Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building
-
Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation
-
Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed
-
Replaces conduit and wiring as needed
-
Replaces circuit breakers as needed
-
Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and the workshop

Assist maintenance teams

Solely identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment

Adhere to state and local building regulations
-
Complete work orders on time

Create records of materials used
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements

Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
-
Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
-
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
-
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
-
Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
-
Ability to read blueprints
-
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
-
Ability to use hand tools and power tool
-
Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum five (5) years of experience preferred
-
Completed certified apprenticeship program preferred
-
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
-
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
-
Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
-
Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary

Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
-
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
Special Qualifications/Requirements:
