Job Title: Grounds Equipment Mechanic/Technician
Department: Operations and Support
Job Summary:
Diagnoses engine malfunctions and repairs E-28 Arresting gear advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying wiring diagrams and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes diagnosis, and repairs E-28 equipment using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and hand tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on E-28 equipment
- Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning E-28 equipment accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion
- Uses automated maintenance data systems to analyze equipment requirements
- Coordinates with administration and other trades to complete projects/work orders efficiently
- Perform and assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure the availability
- Conduct installation and removal of auxiliary equipment
- Responds to emergencies to resolve immediate safety concerns
- Maintains tools and equipment to ensure the availability of equipment in safe operating condition
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents in English
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of related experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
- Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands as necessary
- Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
Special Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
- Valid state driver's license
