Job Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support to the organization. They play a key role in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, and HR policy compliance. Specialized experience in government contracting, Service Contract Act (SCA), and unionized workforces.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the selection process
- Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure job descriptions are accurate and job requirements are met
- Conduct onboarding for new employees
- Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and confidential manner
- Promote a positive work environment and assist in resolving workplace conflicts
- Advise employees on company policies and procedures
- Encourage professional development and career growth
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Maintain HR records and documentation
- Keep policies and procedures up to date and communicate changes to employees
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
- Proficient Microsoft Office productivity suite
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws, government contracting regulations, and SCA requirements
- At least 3 years of related experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary
- Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
Special Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
