Job Summary:

We are searching for a lively, highly organized shuttle bus driver to ensure the safe transport of our passengers. Drives minibus or van to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel; drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule. To be successful as a shuttle bus driver, you should demonstrate strict adherence to schedules and transport-related legislation. An extraordinary shuttle bus driver will be able to diagnose and remedy basic mechanical issues that may arise.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• This driver may assist disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle, secure passengers wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip; may operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service, clean and/or service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories, keep records of trips and/or behavior of passengers, and perform other duties when not driving such as, custodial and building maintenance tasks.
• Collating and editing transport schedules based on passengers' needs.
• Arriving at collection points prior to departure times.
• Checking that passengers disembark at the correct destinations, and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that the shuttle bus is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.
• Observing all relevant traffic and safety laws.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Certified to transport individuals via shuttle bus.
• Previous experience driving groups of people.
• Outstanding knowledge of applicable transport and safety codes.
• First Aid training is preferred.
• Excellent route planning abilities.
• Great improvisational skills.
• Amicable and optimistic disposition.
• Working knowledge of pertinent car maintenance and restoration techniques.

Ability to work flexible hours. Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of related experience required
• Requires 1-2 years experience or equivalent training.
• Must be able to read and write English,
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with a P Endorsement, and an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting.

Special Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
