Process Controls / Electrical Engineer
Location- Norwalk, CT & Waterbury, CT
King Industries, Inc. is actively seeking to hire a Process Controls / Electrical Engineer within our Engineering Department. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering and enjoy solving problems and developing / implementing process automation in a chemical processing plant environment.
Skills Required :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of competence in the use of personal computers for business and technical applications.
Excellent organization skills, persistence, good judgment, and attention to detail.
Knowledge and mechanical ability to design and trouble shoot electrical and electronic controls instruments.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
3-5 years’ experience in process controls design and troubleshooting in the process industries, preferably in chemicals manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Process Controls Aspects
Develop or assist with developing instrumentation design, controls logic, and wiring schemes for new projects and upgrades.
Aide in the design of control cabinets and IO infrastructure for new capital jobs.
Assist with specifying and procuring instruments.
Assist with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining pneumatic / electronic controls, electrical instruments and equipment.
Assist with programming design and troubleshooting of distributed control systems.
Assist the junior Process Control Engineers with commissioning new instrumentation and completing FAT (functional acceptance testing).
Electrical Engineer Aspect
Assist with providing and maintaining wiring diagrams.
Assist electrical foreman and electricians with developing designs for electrical power distribution and control for new projects and upgrades.
Promote and oversee the use of External Contracted Resources as required to supplement our staff in the fields of : Electrical Design, I&C Design, DCS Design and Programming, High Voltage Work and Electrical Field Work.
Provide instrumentation, electrical, and process controls front end loading (FEL) leadership for projects and engineering changes (MOC).
Provide I & C guidance for process hazards reviews (PHAs) as assigned, including ISA S84 SIS / SIL safety instrumented systems assessments.
Comply with company safety programs.
Participate in company wide effort to promote quality assurance in compliance with ISO 9001 AND ISO 14001.
