Description:
The Food Safety and Quality supervisor is responsible for the execution of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) at the Milwaukee Calypso Plant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead plant quality department. Provide direction to and development of quality technicians.
- Develop and maintain quality laboratory capability to support all analytical and online testing requirements.

Manage and improve the Food Safety Management System including:
- Drive plant GMP, HACCP and FSMA compliance through execution, training, internal audits, and verification/validation of programs.
- Ensure execution of the plant quality plan, prerequisite programs, and other quality related SOP’s that drive specification compliance and mitigate risk.
- Maintain and improve plant programs that enable GFSI certification. Function as GFSI practitioner
- Manage non-conforming raw material, packaging, finished goods process including identification, disposition, reporting, ERP transactions and corrective action.
- Measure / track and report plant quality performance. Plan for and deliver quality improvements in targeted process capability and cases right the first time, and plant driven consumer complaints.
- Develop and implement cross functional product quality review. Maintain and evaluate product retains to assess quality and shelf life.
- Lead PCQI and associate CAPA process.
- Develop and maintain plant specification and document control process to assure that the most current SOPs and Forms are being used. Assure proper retention time and condition of records.
- Support the Supplier Quality Management Program.
- Ensure plant compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations.
Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of BS Degree, Food Science, Biology or similar field would be preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing industry. Experience in beverage preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and developing direct reports.
- Auditing experience and knowledge required
- Demonstrated ability in data management and statistical analysis
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Basic knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (USDA, FDA)
- Experience coaching and auditing manufacturing and distribution facilities to implement and comply with HACCP, GMP, GFSI/FSC22000 requirements
- Strong leadership abilities and excellent coaching skills
- Accountable, driven, self-motivated, results orientated
- Must have hands on work ethic and can work at multiple levels. Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
