Rate of Pay: $14/hour plus gratuity

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Server to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for proper setting of tables; taking, retrieving and serving food orders and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to guest tables; and totals bills and accepts payment. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

____ Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing
personalized service to guests.
____ Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
____ Assist with meal set-up and set or pre-set tables in dining room as assigned.
____ Courteously wait on guests, make recommendations, up sell.
____ Takes orders for food/ meals and beverages.
____ Professionally serve food and beverages, check-in with and monitor guests’ experience
throughout their visit to ensure guest satisfaction.
____ Observes guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed.
____ May assist in keeping supplies stocked at work station.
____ Assist with cleaning dining area. Wipe down and reset the table for the next guests.
____ Adhere to food safety requirements and applicable liquor laws.
____ Totals bill and accepts payment.
____ Assists bussers in routine service when necessary.
____ Report any missing/found articles, or damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
____ Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best
overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
____ Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements Knowledge/Education/Experience: One (1) year experience as a server is required. High school or equivalent education. Ability to operate a computerized point of sale system. TB clearance card required.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
