King, King & Associates is a fast-growing CPA firm that is a recognized leader in Connecticut in performing audits for governmental and not-for-profit entities. We have a substantial tax practice as well as work in other practice areas. Our employees attend continuing education seminars and receive on the job training.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant/Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will work alongside experienced accounting professionals while gaining exposure to a variety of clients and industries.
Junior Accountant/Auditor Job responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and other reports for clients.
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and resolve any accounting issues.
- Participate in the planning, executing, and reporting of audits.
- Assist in the identification and assessment of potential risks and control weaknesses.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the audit team to achieve audit objectives.
- Maintain professional and productive relationships with clients.
- Prepare clear and concise audit workpapers that support conclusions reached during audits.
- Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to the manager and partner on the engagement.
- Identify emerging risks and areas for improvement in audit processes and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Junior Accountant/Auditor Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting required.
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff at all levels.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
