Description:
The Hand Finisher will ensure each mold meets specifications for optimal tire performance using specialized tools and machinery to perform intricate finishing tasks, focusing on precision, safety, and quality.
1st Shift = 6:30am - 2:30pm
Essential Functions
- Inspect, clean, and repair worn-out or damaged tire molds.
- Perform detailed hand-finishing tasks on molds, including grinding, polishing, and smoothing surfaces.
- Use hand tools such as grinders, buffers, and sanders to polish molds to a high-quality finish.
- Ensure mold surfaces are free of defects that could affect tire quality.
- Conduct visual and manual inspections of molds to identify areas that need repair or finishing.
- Measure mold dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify they meet the required specifications.
- Record and report any deviation from mold quality standards.
- Maintain and operate finishing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Keep workstations and tools clean and organized to prevent accidents and increase productivity.
- Work closely with other team members, including mold designers, engineers, and supervisors, to ensure molds are repaired and finished according to schedule.
- Communicate issues or delays promptly to supervisors and suggest improvements to the repair process.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent workplace injuries.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and mold finishing activities.
- Document work performed on each mold for traceability and quality assurance.

- Ability to handle tools, equipment controls, and small parts.
