JANITOR

• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning up after events or meetings.
• Perform special cleaning tasks as needed.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and elevator buttons.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facility manager.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
• Wear protective gear and follow protocols for handling cleaning chemicals.
• Report to work at the scheduled time, work as scheduled and is seldom absent from work.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial services is a plus
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of or ability to learn how to handle and dispose of biohazardous waste/materials properly required
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move objects as needed

Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

• Education - High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Typical Physical and Mental Demands/Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing facility. May involve working under deadlines. Requires: broad range of physical and mental activities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:

Typical tools, equipment and machinery utilized include brooms/dustpans, mops, buckets, sponges and scrub brushes, cloths and rags, squeegees, carts, storage cabinets, and vacuum cleaner. The position involves time in an environment with extreme temperatures exceeding 100°F during summer months.
