What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Press Operator position at King Plastics, Inc?
Under minimum supervision sets up Polytype Printing Presses (8 color dry off-set printers) in the Print Department. Keeps presses running to specifications based on print designs and number of colors. We have several full-time positions on the 1st and 2nd shift that pays $20 - $25/hour depending on experience.
Organizational Relationships
1. Reports directly to the Print Foreman
2. Interfaces and communicates with all Print employees.
3. Interacts with Quality Control Department
Responsibilities
1. Follows established procedures for changing jobs.
2. Sets machines for 1-8 colors.
3. Makes adjustments to machine when necessary.
4. Periodically checks samples to ensure quality and size of product.
5. Interacts with Packer’s and Quality Control.
6. General clean up of assigned station.
7. Move’s boxes on to pallets.
10. Sets up stackers at machines.
Qualifications
1. Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal communications.
2. Ability to document the work being performed.
3. Familiarization with various hand tools.
4. 5 years experience on Off Set Printing Presses or related fields.
Physical Requirements
1. Must be able to twist, turn, bend, lift and climb ladders 6ft high without restrictions.
2. The ability to lift up to 50lbs.
3. Stand/walk for extended periods of time.
4. Recognize colors.
