Senior Underwriter - Workers' Compensation | Remote

Our client, an A-rated Insurance Carrier, is seeking to add a skilled Senior Workers' Compensation Underwriter to join their growing team. This person will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, underwriting new and renewal business, and ensuring adherence to company profitability standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers' compensation underwriting, excellent analytical abilities, and experience building relationships with brokers and agents. Our client is open to candidates working Fully Remote or Hybrid.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal submissions to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with state and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with brokers and agents to facilitate the submission process and drive new business.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members, including reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications :

  • 3 - 7 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Underwriting.
  • Insurance Carrier experience required.
  • Previous experience managing a book of business with demonstrated success in profitability and growth.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with underwriting platforms or systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are a plus.
  • Salary and Benefits :

  • 100,000 to $140,000 base salary plus lucrative bonus
