Experienced Pharmacy Technician
Blairsville-area retail pharmacy is seeking a motivated, professional individual to fill the role of Certified Pharmacy Technician with a high emphasis on computer order entry, filling prescriptions, and answering phone calls. The applicant would preferably have at least two years experience as a technician in a pharmacy. A mature, friendly, professional individual is required to assume this position in the pharmacy while working under the direction of the pharmacist-in-charge. Current immunization certification and experience is preferable and would equate to a higher starting pay.

General Definition. The purpose of the pharmacy technician is to assist the pharmacist-in-charge, staff pharmacists, and coworkers with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy.
General Technician Responsibilities
- Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders
- Correctly process point of sale prescription and over-the-counter transactions
- At point of sale, verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)
- Create and update patients health and insurance information in the computer
- Screen telephone calls for the pharmacist
- Enter prescription orders into the computer
- Fulfill compliance packaging orders
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations
- Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims
- Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions
- Communicate with prescribers and their agents to obtain refill authorization
- Maintain an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice
- Assist other pharmacy technicians

- Fulltime, working 3 to 4 weekdays from 8am-6pm
- Also every other Saturday (8:45am-Noon)
