Grounds Person (Maintenance / Housekeeping)

King's Pointe Resort is now accepting applications for a part-time, flexible scheduling, Grounds Person. Ideal candidates will have a passion for cleanliness, hands-on/light maintenance, the ability to work independently, is self-motivated, reliable, enjoys interacting with guests, and has the availability to work as the business needs demand including weekends and holidays. 

Job Summary: Responsible for the overall cleanliness and light maintenance of the indoor and outdoor waterpark, mini-golf, snack shack and restrooms near the beach/park area a short distance from the property, as well other ground areas of the property. Depending on weather, this position may have additional responsibilities inside the main building assisting in other areas of maintenance as well as tidying public spaces. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with preventative maintenance and tidying of the indoor and outdoor waterpark as directed.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and general grounds-keeping tasks at the mini-golf.
• Clean and maintain the grounds of the hotel's designated areas.
• Ensure that the hotel's outdoor areas are kept tidy, neat, and safe.
• Cleans rooms or removes linen when needed or if housekeeping is short staffed.
• Checks lights and changes light bulbs, as needed.
• Patrols and maintains outside entrance door area and grounds daily
• Checks and cleans all public restrooms several times daily.
• Stocks supplies needed.
• Cleans all trash and cigarette butts from the grounds.
• Become familiar and knowledgeable with hotel’s safety policies and emergency procedures to include emergency evacuation procedures. 
• Become familiar with accident prevention policies to include any OSHA related chemical handling (SDS sheets).
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

• Must be at least 18 years of age if assigned responsibilities using maintenance and landscaping equipment
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekends, morning, mid and night shifts. 
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in regards to hotel grounds maintenance and upkeep needs.
• Be able to maintain a clean and functional work space.
• Ability to multi task and remain calm in a high volume environment. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. often
• Ability to lift up to 50 or more lbs. occasionally
• Ability to bend at the waist and work on knees often
• Ability to reach over head
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to walk at least three flights of stairs
• Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather

This position is subject to successful completion of a background check as it relates to the responsibilities and role.
