Middle School English Teacher
King’s Valley Christian School is an outreach of Life Church in Concord California. Our school includes preschool, elementary, middle school, and an extensive morning and after school extended day program. Teaching Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Teach middle school students with creativity, imagination, and a sense of humor.
- Display a deep knowledge of literature, grammar, mechanics and writing skills.
- Integrate Christian faith and a biblical worldview throughout the teaching of novels and writing assignments.
- Be able to teach an elective class in middle school as mutually agreed upon by administration.
- Participate in weekly chapels and speak in chapel on a rotating basis with other teachers.
- Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students’ behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules.
- Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior.
- Follow the established curriculum guidelines to ensure coverage of state and school student learning outcomes. Modifications to the established curriculum may be made upon mutual agreement with the administration.
- Be able to use and integrate technology into daily lessons. Familiarity or willingness to learn Google Classroom, Google applications, and RenWeb is necessary.
- Promote a positive school culture by participating in school events, field trips, and special activities.
- Participate in weekly middle school team meetings to support and receive support from middle school teachers to promote student success.
- Possess or be willing to obtain teacher certification with ACSI.
