Boys Tennis Varsity Head Coach

King School is looking for qualified applicants with high school, college or professional tennis coaching and/or competitive playing experience for the position of Varsity Boys Tennis Head Coach. King competes in the Fairchester Athletic Association during the spring season. Our home location for practices and matches is Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford. Highly motivated candidates possessing strong leadership and communication skills are encouraged to apply.

The Head Coach will have responsibility for all aspects of the program, including practice planning and match line-ups. The Head Coach will provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the King Tennis program. The Head Coach will constructively collaborate with students and adults in a positive spirit, acting in the best interest of King’s student-athletes both on and off the field; displaying sportsmanship and citizenship at all times and demonstrating a commitment to King’s Virtues and Diversity Policy. The Head Coach will also be expected to uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of the King School and the Athletic Department, while following the rules set forth by the Fairchester Athletic Association and the New England Prep School Athletic Council.

Responsibilities and Primary Duties

• Serve as an inspirational leader and positive role model. Thoughtfully engage in best practices in motivating student athletes in the context of King’s Mission and Virtues.
• Draw from a strong working tennis knowledge to plan and facilitate daily, meaningful practices, and execute effective teaching/coaching techniques during matches.
• Oversee the direction of King Boys Tennis for the Varsity, JV, and Middle School teams in collaboration with the Dean of Athletics, mentoring assistant and Middle School coaches.
