As a member of the Marketing Department's Communications team, the Senior Manager, Awards and Rankings has firm-wide responsibility for managing the identification, intake, evaluation and pursuit of award and ranking opportunities. The position requires a blend of process management, project management, strategic thinking, and communications skills. The individual will report to the Associate Director – Communications and work closely with the firm’s Business Development team.

New York: The anticipated full-time annualized salary range is $170,000- $230,000
DC: The anticipated full-time annualized salary range is $165,000 - $215,000
Chicago: The anticipated full-time annualized salary range is $155,000 - $205,000 The salary offer will be contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities
Process Management
- Maintain and enhance firm-wide processes for identifying and pursuing award and ranking opportunities. This includes overseeing research and analysis of opportunities and managing workstreams and systems to ensure assignments are made in a timely way and deadlines are met.
- Manage growing team of Communications colleagues specializing in awards and rankings.
- Lead communications with partners on strategic approaches to practice-level and firm-wide submissions and nominations.
- Work closely with colleagues on Business Development team to identify appropriate opportunities, coordinate selection of nominees, assign work and manage deadlines.
- Identify when consultants and outside writers are needed and coordinate and manage the assignment and production of their work.
- Manage announcement, recording and communication/promotion of results, including the creation of reports and analysis of results for marketing colleagues and firm partners and leaders to use in internal communications, benchmarking and marketing materials.
- Work closely with partners and Business Development colleagues to evaluate opportunities best aligned with practice, industry and firm priorities and to assist in proactive planning.
- Provide information and training on research processes and best practices for nominations and submissions to improve and scale education and support and elevate the quality of our nomination and submission content.
- Serve as project manager and lead writer on high-level firm nominations and surveys and occasionally when resource gaps exist for other nominations.
- Undergraduate degree.
- At least seven years of experience in a legal or professional services marketing or related role.
- Experience managing others.
- Experience with legal awards programs and leading legal ranking directories
- Strong process orientation, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects while overseeing overall workflow for a busy award nomination schedule.
- A team-oriented approach and collaborative nature, including a willingness to jump in where needed to ensure award and ranking projects get completed.
- Resilience and adaptability to deal with fluid situations, changing priorities and requirements, and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
