This job was posted by Vermont Job Link : For more information, please see : Job PostingPosition Overview : The K-5 Program Director is a full-time, 40hr / week position responsible for King Street Center's largest program, with up to 59 youth in the program on any given day. The Director oversees the administration and oversight required of a state licensed 5 STAR afterschool program. In addition, they are responsible for planning daily activities and curriculum, managing and coaching between 12-16 staff, providing behavior support in the classroom, and communicating with families.King Street Center is one of the most racially diverse places to work in Vermont. If you are a professional of color in Vermont, working at King Street means you will be the majority identity in our halls and will be able to see yourself in our youth and your co-workers.If you’re ready to turn passion into action and dreams into reality, this role offers you the opportunity to be a part of a brighter future for King Street Center and all those we touch.SupervisionManages and coaches between 12-16 part-time youth development staff, ensuring that staff are modeling safe behavior, effectively communicating risk management issues or concerns, and participating in appropriate meetings.Works closely with the K-5 Program Assistant Director to administer the program.Works with the HR Manager on recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.Leads regular staff meetings and individual check-ins with staff, including offering feedback on their performance and requesting feedback on yours.Works with the Community Outreach Director to supervise interns and program volunteers.Ensures staff are fully trained and adhere to policies and procedures contained in the licensing guidelines, staff handbook, parent handbook, and emergency procedures.Administrative OversightSupervises the student enrollment process, including registration, payment / subsidy / scholarship information, and roster creation using standard systems, procedures, and deadlines as established by King Street Center.Maintains reciprocal, ongoing pathways of communication with families regarding program logistics, and the successes and challenges of their child / ren. Holds caregiver meetings 1-2 times per year.Works with the Family Support Director to ensure all eligible children receive child care subsidy and communicates with families about subsidy.Oversees compliance with Child Care Licensing Requirements and manages the annual STARS quality credentialing process in a timely manner.Purchases instructional materials and teaching aids, including developmentally-appropriate books, toys, and games as well as any other necessary supplies.Works with senior leadership to develop, implement, and monitor the annual program budget.Maintains Traxsolutions Database and daily attendance.Works with the Meals Program Coordinator to ensure nutritious meals are provided during the program.Ensures accurate record keeping of student records, including health and safety matters.Participates in agency team meetings and staff days.Works with the Senior Director of Programs to implement annual evaluation of program - Parent and Youth Surveys, YPQA, DESSA Mini, etc.Ensures physical space is clean, welcoming, and safe from hazards.Curriculum & Activity DevelopmentDevelops, implements, participates in, supervises, and evaluates out-of-school time educational and age-appropriate activities for children in compliance with the guidelines and standards set by the state licensing board that support the mission and goals of King Street Center. This should include academic, physical, and enrichment activities that provide choices; are developmentally appropriate for the population served, fit the interests of attendees, and make effective use of staff.#J-18808-Ljbffr
