Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our medical finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires a strong understanding of Quickbooks and excellent communication skills to effectively negotiate payment terms with clients. A background in public accounting and familiarity with medical billing processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Process and record accounts receivable transactions in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including journal entries related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with the revenue cycle management team to resolve discrepancies and improve billing processes.
- Utilize Quickbooks to track payments, generate reports, and analyze account data.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding payment terms, outstanding balances, and any necessary negotiations.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and ICD-10 codes as they relate to billing practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in an accounts receivable or similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial software applications is essential.
- Knowledge of public accounting principles is beneficial.
- Experience in medical billing or understanding of revenue cycle management is a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients are required.
- A solid understanding of journal entries and financial reporting practices is important.
