Our client develops, owns, and operates large-scale renewable energy and battery storage projects throughout the United States and we are hiring a versatile and detail-oriented Accountant to take ownership of all day-to-day and strategic accounting functions.
As the first in-house accounting hire, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the financial backbone of the company. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to grow into broader finance roles over time—potentially including FP&A, financial modeling, and investor relations.
You will oversee core accounting responsibilities such as payables, receivables, journal entries, monthly close, bank reconciliations, and reporting, while also supporting project-level accounting, lender and investor reporting, and building out scalable financial processes as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate accounting across the organization
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking
- Perform monthly and quarterly closings, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain accounting systems and records across corporate and project entities
- Assist with preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit support materials
- Support compliance with project-level financing, including covenant reporting, investor updates, and lender communications
- Collaborate with external tax and audit partners, as well as internal legal and asset management teams
- Contribute to process improvement and implementation of accounting policies and controls
- Support future FP&A activities, such as budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Assist in developing internal tools and dashboards for financial tracking and modeling
- Contribute to investor relations and capital reporting efforts as the company expands
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required)
- 3–6 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a mix of corporate and project accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and experience managing full-cycle accounting
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or real asset sectors is a strong plus
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and building systems from scratch
- Ambition to grow into broader finance and investor-facing roles over time
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
