Position Overview
The Accounting Manager / Controller will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, and support financial planning and analysis. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, private equity stakeholders, and operational teams to enhance financial reporting, controls, and overall financial strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrials or manufacturing and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full cycle of accounting, including general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
Manage and optimize financial controls, policies, and procedures to support company growth.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Prepare and present accurate financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
Partner with private equity investors to provide key financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and banking relationships.
Collaborate with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Drive process improvements and implementation of ERP systems as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Experience: 7-15 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Industry Background: Experience in an industrials, manufacturing, or PE-backed environment preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, streamline processes, and drive efficiencies.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
