About the Role:
We are seeking a GIS Associate with 3-7 years of experience to support our midstream portfolio operations within a private equity-backed environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing spatial data to support asset management, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. This position requires a deep understanding of GIS applications in the energy sector, with a focus on pipeline infrastructure, asset mapping, and geospatial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency across spatial data sets.
- Support midstream asset management through spatial analysis and mapping of pipelines, facilities, and rights-of-way.
- Work with internal teams to provide GIS solutions for regulatory reporting, permitting, and environmental compliance.
- Integrate GIS with enterprise systems to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the midstream sector.
- Utilize industry-standard GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD Map 3D for data visualization and management.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and business development teams to optimize infrastructure planning and expansion.
- Develop and present GIS-based reports, dashboards, and visualizations to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-7 years of GIS experience, preferably within the midstream, oil & gas, or energy sector.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise).
- Experience with spatial data management, geospatial analysis, and cartographic visualization.
- Knowledge of pipeline and midstream infrastructure, including regulatory and environmental considerations.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodatabases.
- Ability to interpret and analyze survey data, engineering drawings, and asset maps.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for GIS automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a private equity-backed midstream or energy company.
- Familiarity with FERC, PHMSA, and state regulatory GIS requirements.
- Understanding of remote sensing, GPS technologies, and web-based mapping applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
