What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Teacher position at Kingdom East Unified Union School District?
Sutton School, Miller’s Run School, and Newark Street School is seeking an Art Teacher who will teach kindergarten through eighth grade students. The ideal candidate will design and present exciting lessons (painting, drawing, sculpting, computer art, digital media, etc) that actively engages all learners and builds an appreciation and exposure to a wide variety of media. Opportunities include involvement with student art displays, contests, and preparing props for school performances. Knowledge of Responsive Classroom and/or Developmental Design techniques, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports are preferred.
Sutton School, Miller’s Run School, and Newark Street School are part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 50 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.
