What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech-Language Pathologists position at Kingdom East Unified Union School District?
The Kingdom East School District is searching for 2.0 FTE(s) Speech-language Pathologists (SLP) to work with students from preschool through the eighth grade. The SLPs would be part of high functioning IEP, 504 and EST teams in addition to PLCs whose innovative approach to inclusive Speech/Language practices coaching model in the early childhood classrooms set us apart from other school districts. The Speech-language Pathologists (SLP) will provide services and interventions to students requiring language, articulation, voice and fluency therapy. These services are provided one on one or in small groups, both within the classroom or as pull-out services. The SLP may conduct speech/language evaluations and is included in Kingdom East’s Evaluation Team. This position is an integral part of the district’s evaluation team and collaborates closely with other evaluators, special educators, administrators and classroom teachers to support the team process determining student needs in a least restrictive educational environment, where all prek- 12th grade students access FAPE. There is an opportunity for the candidate to provide layers of professional development opportunities within the district. Additionally, the SLP will supervise and direct several SLP Assistants working in our schools. Successful candidates will be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Vermont Agency of Education, is a licensed SLP through the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation and adheres to state and federal laws.
