Burke Town School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, announces the hiring of an elementary teacher to work on one of our upper elementary teams. Burke Town School offers a highly collaborative, student-centered environment. Our campus environment allows plenty of opportunity for outdoor and experiential education, project based learning, and a development of a sense of place. Experience with Responsive Classroom, Zones of Regulation, and PBIS is a plus, but not necessary.Burke Town School School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME.
Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
