Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our financial operations. This role is essential in managing financial records, ensuring accurate transaction posting, and maintaining account reconciliation to keep our business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records across multiple company books, including parent company and subsidiary ledgers, post daily transactions, and reconcile accounts.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoices
Assist with customer billing to ensure proper taxation at the state and federal levels
Ensure bill register revenue is coded correctly to the appropriate ledger account
Maintain Continuing Property Records and process plant work order closings per FCC regulations
Assist in regulatory filings, audits, and compliance requirements
Backup payroll and ensure accurate employee compensation
Assist in maintaining property tax district boundaries
Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines with minimal supervision
Work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple financial tasks efficiently
Qualifications
3 years of accounting experience (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel – The applicant should be able to utilize the program for financial analysis, leverage built-in functions to create spreadsheets from scratch and efficiently manage data for reporting and analysis.
Strong understanding of financial principles, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Accounting software experience (preferred)
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
