What's the job?
About the role We are going through and exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Platforms and SRE team. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology within Kingfisher.
You will be responsible for the delivery of an engineering platform enabling construction of quality software using DevOps practices and principles. You will be expected to be actively pairing to share knowledge, make key decisions, whilst enabling the delivery team's progress around all aspects from individual growth, service improvements and future strategies.
Responsibilities
- Drive automation in all technical areas.
- Supporting the design and delivery of the engineering platform, pipelines and paths to production.
- Working closely with colleagues in and outside of the team to create, deliver and support the platform in line with our infrastructure strategy.
- Reviewing automation in technical areas and recommend improvements.
- Deploy, plan and maintain IaaS, PaaS & tooling capabilities.
- Creation and ongoing ownership of the platform common standards and practices.
What you'll bring
Skills and Experience
- Solid hands-on experience with Agile, DevOps, SRE, and DevEx practices.
- Proficient in tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, and Backstage etc.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: SonarQube, Nexus, Micro Focus tools.
- Strong expertise in AWS, with additional exposure to GCP and Azure considered a plus.
- Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
- Practical experience with containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong technical foundation in designing and optimising CI/CD pipelines across a variety of technology stacks.
- Good understanding of monitoring and observability tools, such as Datadog or Dynatrace.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to support teams in making sound technical decisions.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
