Position Purpose

All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance. At the direction of management, completes the registration process for patients. This includes verification of benefits, discharge of patients, collection of copays or payments, balancing of accounts, and general data entry.

Key Responsibilities

The technician must be able to manage time to complete patient workload according to the physician-prescribed schedule and perform emergent (STAT) requests in a timely manner. The technician must be able to document effectively and in detail, all patient assessment and therapy, in the patient and departmental records. The technician will also be responsible for the monitoring, stocking, and distribution of various supplies and equipment used by the Respiratory Department throughout the facility. Clerical responsibilities include, but not limited to, clerical organization within the department, processing of orders for tests & procedures and special requests, assurance of EKG study distribution for physician interpretation, as well as prioritizing, transcribing, and notifying appropriate personnel of orders. Assists with the orientation of new employees in the use and process of EKG procedures and orders.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge, skills, and proficiency in Cardiovascular Diagnostics and ability to support all areas of Respiratory Care. Ability to ensure standards met are reflective department/organizational policies (including, but not limited to specialty areas and age specific populations), and in accordance to the standards set forth by governing bodies of Respiratory Care.


Preferences

Education: College Degree or advanced education background preferred

Certification: Certified Cardiovascular Technician (CCT) desired; ACLS/PALS desired

Experience: One (1) year experience direct experience with cardiovascular diagnostics. Experience in adult/pediatric care in an acute care setting desired.
