Job Overview:
Join our team as a Veterinary Technician where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our feline and canine patients. We are open 7 days a week, offering you a flexible and dynamic work schedule.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and examinations for cats and dogs
- Handle and restrain cats and dogs during treatments and examinations using Fear Free techniques
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Perform laboratory procedures including sample collection and analysis
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the system
- Educate pet owners on proper feline and canine care, treatment plans, and Fear Free practices
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in treatment areas while maintaining a calm environment for patients
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in veterinary critical care and emergency protocols for cats and dogs
- Experience in feline and canine care, including catheterization and animal husbandry
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Strong communication skills with both clients and team members
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
- Fear Free certification is an asset or a willingness to obtain it
