SUMMARY
Performs routine security enforcement work on Casino property and is responsible for the safety and well being of guests and fellow employees. Work involves patrolling grounds, inspecting gaming materials and equipment, inspecting and safeguarding buildings, property and equipment, directing traffic; and issuing parking warnings, monitoring gaming floor and customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
- Monitors entrances and exits; prevents unapproved or unlawful entry; monitors casino floor, storage areas and parking lots; directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property. Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to shift supervisor or Law enforcement authorities as appropriate and as required by the Casino.
- Monitor the main entry for unsafe conditions and assists with temperature screening of employees and patrons prior to entry.
- Issuing personal protective equipment such as face coverings to patrons prior to entry.
- Patrols the Casino checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations; assists with mechanical problems as authorized. Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flood, elevator emergencies, and hazardous materials. Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
- Makes chip pickup and fills, jackpot verifications and card control duties. Provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.
- May be required to enforce State of California and federal laws. Apprehends suspects in case of prowling, unauthorized entry into buildings and work areas, malicious mischief, or other violations of State and Federal Laws.
- Conducts and prepares complete investigations whether civil or criminal. Make presentations to employees, and members of the public when required. Actively recruits candidates to meet staffing and EEO/AA requirements.
- Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings. Prepares accurately detailed logs or reports. Enters information in a computer using proper grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required.
- Shipping, receiving and preventative maintenance.
- Check general safety and well being of Casino grounds.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent ability to communicate (understands, reads, speaks and writes English). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Courteous telephone manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be able to utilize Microsoft Word Processing software or equivalent word processing, to adequately present proposals, and prepare various reports, dispositions, evaluations, etc. Must have computer and keyboarding skills to include Word, Excel, Access and the Internet. Ability to learn to operate mobile and hand-held radios.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or have the ability to gain First Aid Certification. Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officer. Must possess or have the ability to gain a valid California Guard Card. Must possess a Valid California Driver’s license. Successful passage of background, reference, psychological and controlled substance tests, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older. Must possess reliable transportation. Must have means of being contacted (i.e. home phone, cellular phone) Must be able to work all shifts. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
