What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dialysis/Medical Float Nurse position at KINGS DAUGHTERS MEDICAL CENTER?
Primary Role - Dialysis Nurse
Provides dialysis care for Intensive Care and Medical/Surgical patients. Communicates as needed with Nephrology providers to offer the best level of dialysis care possible.
Secondary Role - Staff RN Medical
Assumes the responsibility for providing professional care according to medical center policies, procedures and accepted standards of practice and care to a designated patient population.
Will work as a RN on Medical unit when needed to obtain hours for full-time status when there are no Dialysis needs.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in nursing as RN preferred.
- Previous dialysis experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
- Current MS RN license required.
- Current CPR certifciation required.
- Current ACLS certification or must obtain within first year of employment.
- Current PALS certification or must obtain within first year of employment.
Speical Qualifications
- Able to read and write the English language.
- Demonstrates proficiency of skills per checklist.
- Must pass a written pharmacology exam.
- Gives evidence of knowledge and ability to use proper channels of communication.
- Demonstrates ability and cooperation in rotation of shift and/or duty areas.
- Promotes harmonious inter- and intra-departmental relationships.
- Must be willing to take call.
