The Kings Ridge Golf Club in Clermont, FL is accepting applications for an Assistant Superintendent!
Kings Ridge Golf club provides two golf courses: the Kings Course is a very playable Lloyd Clifton design with generous fairways and greens. The course, which opened in 1996, is a par-71 offering elevated tees, some 40 bunkers, and wide fairways, some of which are lined by pine trees. The second Course – The Ridge, is an outstanding par-57, designed by Ron Garl with fifteen par 3’s and three par 4’s with some interesting elevation changes. Together they make for a great Florida golf experience combination.
The Maintenance Department equipment package is Toro. The Courses are irrigated with two pumpstations that include Par controllers and Rain Bird series 900/950 and 700/750 heads.
The Assistant Superintendent position involves all facets of golf course management with an emphasis on irrigation, fertilizer/pesticide, and employee management under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendents. The Superintendent's long term goal is for this candidate to take over operations in a couple of years.
Requirements
- Two-year certificate, associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Turf Grass Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Will consider other experience/education degrees and those currently working towards a degree.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to interact with Club managers, employees, members, and guests.
- Must have a valid driver license and clean motor vehicle record.
- Must have or able to obtain a Florida Pesticides License within six months of employment.
The Department/Courses will further provide training in:
- Management and motivation of the Golf Maintenance Team.
- Daily scheduling of the Golf Maintenance Team to achieve excellent playing conditions.
- All irrigation repair, watering techniques and nightly irrigation programming.
- Proper use of spray and fertilizer equipment, rate determinations and calibration techniques.
- Golf course principle, methods, and practices.
- Expand upon current knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices.
