Direct Support Professional III Fresno, CA The SLS Direct Support Professional (DSP) III is essential in implementing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) with program participants and their support teams. They ensure individuals receive the support needed to reach their goals and act as a key member of the residents' ISP. The DSP III also provides leadership and training to other Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) as assigned. How will I contribute Support residents in achieving their best lives by conducting assessments and developing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) that reflect their needs and goals, while advocating for their active participation in the CCMRS community. Provide timely support by observing and reporting any issues that may affect participants' well-being to the program manager. Lead Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) to promote resident success, facilitate learning, and ensure effective resource utilization during ISP implementation. Enhance the agency's reputation through professional conduct, effective communication, and strong leadership, consulting with other professionals as needed. Collaborate with participants and their support teams to implement training plans and engage in assessment and planning processes. Train and support staff, lead team meetings, and ensure timely documentation, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving environment. Assist with the self-administration of medication as needed and ensure the care and safety of individuals without physical or verbal abuse, exploitation, or prejudice. Transport participants to community events and appointments and assist in arranging medical and dental care. Facilitate individual and group learning experiences. Maintain accurate records, complete support documentation on time, and track participant progress towards goals. Engage and collaborate with Kings View team members in meetings, documentation, and proactive problem-solving. Aim for positive outcomes by dedicating 75-84% of paid time to direct support and a minimum of 10% to leadership activities, managing support within ISP timeframes. Promote healthy group dynamics by ensuring accountability and providing conflict resolution support as needed. Maintain positive relationships with participants' legal representatives and community service agencies. Attend all required meetings, training sessions, classes, and seminars for continuing education. Participate in IDT meetings and perform other assigned duties. Complete required continuing education, training, and certifications each year to meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements as applicable to the position and assigned program(s). This position includes being on call at times, with one "On Call Staff" and one "Admin on Duty" assigned each week on a rotating schedule. Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, verbally or physically, when you are the "On Call Staff" or "Admin On Duty". Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program. What I bring High School Diploma (or Equivalent) Class C Driving License Required Adult First Aid and CPR One year experience professional or personal experience supporting individuals with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities. Experience providing positive support to persons with challenging behaviors and / or medical needs preferred, on the job training may be substituted in lieu of experience. Knowledge of principles of person-centered thinking, health, safety, nutrition, and sanitation practices, provision of client care and supervision, recognition of early signs of illness and the need for professional assistance and positive behavior support principles and techniques Ability to interact effectively with the program team and leadership and work with a diverse population of peers and clients, including those with behavior and medical support needs. Organization, time management, critical thinking, strong written and verbal communication, multi-tasking, active listening, reading comprehension, problem-solving, teaching, coordinating, innovating, and strategizing skills and abilities necessary for service delivery. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, responsible, self-disciplined, creative, multi-culturally competent, empathetic, socially perceptive, flexible and adaptable. Must be at least age 18 and comply with Community Care Licensing personnel requirements : have a DOJ criminal background clearance, evidence of good health (verified by physical) and a negative TB test Ability to perform emergency first aid and CPR as needed.
