Overview :

Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) is a 50 year old multi-service

not-for-profit organization based on the settlement house model and located in the Bronx. We

provide resources for Bronx residents from cradle to career to advance education and well-being

for a vibrant community. KHCC serves over 5,000 families annually with an inclusive

environment for children with special needs, low-income families, recent immigrants, survivors

of sexual and domestic abuse, and at-risk teens. KHCC helps participants overcome adversity

and develop the skills they need to build bright futures.

Position Statement :

The Changing Futures Program Director is responsible for the day to day program operations

of KHCC’s signature trauma treatment program for survivors, alongside our newly launched

Article 31 mental health Satellite Clinic through the Child Center of NY. This Director oversees

a team of 15 part and full time staff members, and up to 8 graduate interns in social work and

mental health specializations. The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to,

the duties listed in the job description below.

Directly Reporting to this Position :

  • 1 Assistant Director, 1 Clinic Supervisor, 4-5 part / full-time psychotherapists, 2

MSW / MHC graduate interns.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and coordinate day to day program operations, including supervision and training of
  • team members, and the full range of programmatic, clinical, and administrative policies and

    procedures.

  • Manage all aspects of contract compliance and fiscal / program reports in accordance with
  • funding source requirements via program specific documentation such as intake, and data

    collection / tracking systems, e.g. referral form / spreadsheets, KHCC database

  • Coordinate monthly meetings with the KHCC fiscal team to ensure timely OTPS spending
  • and payments to trainers / subcontractors, etc.

  • Ensure the strengthening and expansion of our Rape Crisis certification, including the
  • logistics of our Rape Crisis Hotline, training of advocates, and development of new

    partnerships with local emergency departments towards the goal of increased in-person

    accompaniment of survivors for legal and medical services.

  • Explore new funding sources and contribute to the development of new program priorities
  • and expanded initiatives alongside the fiscal, executive and development teams.

  • Encourage the use of ongoing or new evidence based approaches to trauma treatment (e.g.
  • TF-CBT, EMDR, etc.), including new clinical assessments, monitoring tools, surveys, and / or

    treatment instruments aimed at measuring progress in conjunction with program evaluation

    consultant / s

  • Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with foster care agencies, hospitals, child
  • advocacy centers, the criminal justice system, community agencies and schools that

    consistently refer children, youth and families to use our services.

  • Collaborate with other KHCC programs towards the goal of greater service integration (e.g.
  • in-house referrals, safety workshops for children, etc.) and maintain proactive involvement

    on the KHCC leadership team.

  • Manage the multi-prong approach to service delivery with the Changing Futures Operations
  • team; this includes clinical, prevention and education components via weekly quality

    assurance reviews, wait list management, case assignment, group work cycles, and specialty

    initiatives (horticultural, animal assisted modalities, etc.)

  • Carry a small caseload of 1 : 1 clients and / or group work assignments as desired; On-call for
  • all team members with risk management, crisis intervention support.

  • Support the Assistant Director in prevention / educational training and awareness at annual
  • events with and on behalf of KHCC participants and programs, and the wider Bronx

    community. This includes planning and implementing annual events during Domestic

    Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness months, and participation in outside initiatives such

    as the Brides March, Denim Day, the Clothesline Project, etc.

  • Remain an active player in local and state advocacy surrounding gender based violence and
  • victims’ services policy and funding; This includes participation in the city-wide Sexual

    Assault Intititive (SAI), annual meetings with council members and other elected officials to

    secure continued or increased funding, etc.

  • Support the build-out of our satellite Article 31 clinic through The Child Center of NY
  • TCCNY); Provide direct supervision of the Clinic Supervisor and maintain effective

    communication and collaboration with TCCNY’s leadership and compliance teams.

  • Ensure the satellite Article 31 clinic team follows clinical best practices and meets TCCNY’s
  • clinical productivity standards via oversight and involvement in case conferences, QA / QI

    procedures, ongoing review of compliance & billing reports, participation in ongoing

    training, and participation in site visits or audits.

    Qualifications :

  • LMSW / LCSW or related licensure and degree with at least 4 years of clinical and
  • administrative experience with child, youth, or family treatment program / s.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in trauma work, child abuse, domestic violence, and / or
  • other gender based violence areas.

  • Completed the Seminar in Practicum Instruction (SIPI) for social workers, and / or will
  • complete within the first year of hire.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual Spanish
  • preferred.

  • Experience with various computer applications for data tracking including Excel, Access,
  • and Google Suite; Familiarity with Salesforce and / or Welligent a plus.

    Physical Demands :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk;
  • sit; handle, or feel; talk, hear, smell or taste. On rare occasions it may be necessary to

    move quickly, run, etc. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger,

    handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit;

    stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10

    pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up

    to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance

    vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    Schedule :

  • 35 hours / week as needed Mo / Tue / Wed / Thu / Fri : 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm as needed /
  • 3 days in person / 2 days remote after training and orientation period
