POSITION SUMMARY
Kingsley Montessori School seeks a Per Diem/Substitute Nurse to provide exceptional care to our students in the absence of our full-time nursing staff. The ideal candidate will be experienced in pediatric nursing, with specialized knowledge of managing Type 1 Diabetes and other chronic health conditions. The nurse will play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of our student body, creating a safe and supportive environment for all children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and health-related interventions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, particularly for diabetic students, including insulin injections, pump management, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Evaluate and document students’ health conditions, and communicate with full time nursing staff to maintain accurate health records.
- Respond promptly and professionally to medical emergencies.
- Support health screenings as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized health office
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and unrestricted Massachusetts RN or LPN license required.
- Specialized knowledge in diabetes care and management, particularly with insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
- Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and cultural competency.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Daily Substitute Nurse rates may vary. Daily rates range from $330 to $375 dependent upon the length of the assignment.
