Summary Description

The Product Manager – Weather Barrier Business is the CEO of the product, responsible for owning the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and development to launch and ongoing optimization—without direct reports. You will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, R&D, operations, and supply chain to ensure Kingspan’s weather barrier solutions meet market demands, drive profitability, and align with sustainability and compliance goals.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the building materials industry, with a focus on driving product innovation, enhancing durability, and improving performance. You will be responsible for P&L management, developing accurate forecasts, and working closely with sales and marketing teams to drive demand generation. Additionally, you will collaborate with Kingspan Division R&D teams to bring new product and technology innovations tailored for the North American market.

As a key leader in the business, you will play a vital role in fostering Kingspan’s compliance culture, ensuring products meet industry regulations, building codes, and sustainability initiatives.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for weather barrier solutions, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs, and Kingspan’s overall goals.
  • Lead new product development and commercialization efforts, ensuring products meet quality, regulatory, and sustainability objectives.
  • Own P&L management, driving profitability, pricing strategies, and cost optimization.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback to identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of weather barrier products, from concept to launch to ongoing optimization.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, market share, product margins, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop accurate demand forecasts and sales projections, ensuring alignment with inventory and production capabilities.
  • Partner with Kingspan Division R&D teams to drive new product and technology innovations tailored for the North American market.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations to ensure efficient production, quality control, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to define and execute demand generation initiatives that drive awareness, adoption, and sales growth.
  • Act as a key technical resource, providing support to sales teams, marketing, and customer inquiries.
  • Partner with Insulation Division resources and sister companies to adopt new technologies and expand Kingspan’s product offerings.
  • Lead efforts to promote Kingspan’s Planet Passionate initiatives, expanding the use of environmentally friendly materials and reducing carbon footprint.
  • Utilize EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) and HPDs (Health Product Declarations) to communicate sustainability benefits.
  • Ensure product compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory certifications (e.g., LEED, Cradle to Cradle, Passive House).
  • Support KINA’s compliance efforts by participating in complaint investigations, internal audits, and product claims processes.
  • Define and track success metrics, including product performance, market share, customer satisfaction, and sustainability impact.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve product offerings and strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate product updates, roadmaps, and sustainability milestones to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for meetings, customer visits, industry events, and Kingspan site visits.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Education and/or Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, ideally within the building materials or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials (e.g., insulation, roofing, flooring, concrete, adhesives), with a focus on product durability, performance, and sustainability.
  • Experience managing P&L and achieving financial targets, including revenue and profitability.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain accurate forecasts and collaborate with sales and finance on demand planning.

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong focus on metrics and KPIs.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Experience with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Aha!, Trello) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with sustainable building materials or environmentally friendly construction products.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulatory standards, and certifications related to sustainable construction materials.
  • Understanding of customer segments within the construction and home improvement sectors (e.g., contractors, architects, distributors).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about product innovation and market differentiation.
  • Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint analysis of products.
