Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Building Substitute to join our team 4 days a week (28 hours). As a Building Substitute, you will play a crucial role in supporting various educational settings by providing coverage for absent staff members. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of students in diverse learning environments.
Candidates with valid RI Teaching License preferred. Please note this position is not benefit eligible.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans left by the absent teacher, TA, or other staff member
- Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
- Support students in their learning activities and provide assistance as needed
- Manage classroom behavior and encourage student engagement
- Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity in educational activities
- Follow school policies and procedures effectively
Skills:
- Proficiency in tutoring and assisting students with diverse learning needs
- Experience in elementary education settings
- Strong classroom management skills to create an organized learning environment
