Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of avionics systems in various aircraft. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work with complex schematics and technical documentation. The Avionics Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Interpret and work from schematics, technical manuals, and other documentation to perform repairs and installations.
- Utilize power tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise measurements and adjustments.
- Conduct regular inspections of avionics equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement modifications or upgrades to existing avionics systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Perform sheet metal work as needed for the installation or repair of avionics components.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while working in a militarized environment.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of power tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Strong understanding of avionics systems, airframe structures, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with CATIA software for design and analysis purposes is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
- Experience with maintenance practices in a militarized setting is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Applicants with an A&P, Airframe, or Repairmen certificate are preferred.
Candidates ideally have experience working within a part 141 repair station and are proficient in the installation and interface of Garmin displays, Nav/Com/GPS, EIS and autopilots. Technicians are required to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams and perform mechanical installations on single, multi and turbine aircraft.
