Job Summary:
The Elementary Assistant Principal Pool Leader will assist the school principal in overall administration of the instructional program and campus-level operations. This role is responsible for coordinating assigned student activities and services, as well as supervising operations in the principal's absence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of campus operations, curriculum, and instruction, as well as excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs
• Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs
• Promote the use of technology in the teaching and learning process
• Assist in promoting a positive, caring climate for learning
• Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Communicate effectively with students and staff
• Participate in the development of campus improvement plans
• Help the principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators
• Supervise teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, clerical personnel, and others as assigned
Requirements:
• Master's degree from an accredited university
• Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
• Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T-TESS) appraiser
• Two years of experience as a classroom teacher
Working Conditions:
The Elementary Assistant Principal Pool Leader will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, occasional district-wide travel, and occasional prolonged and irregular hours. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain emotional control under stress and work effectively in a team environment.
