Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary
The Admissions Nurse (RN) provides nursing care, medical screening and triage to all psychiatric and chemical dependency patients presented for assessment and evaluation; coordinates the admission process for inpatient, partial or outpatient programs. Facilitates referrals for outpatient services and other community resources.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing screening and appropriate clinical assessment on all persons who present for an evaluation.
- Perform the nurse-to-nurse screen for all patients transferred in or out of the Admissions Department.
- Perform and document all pre-certifications on all admissions.
- Document calls and related information on Intake form and enters data into computer system.
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician should the need occur

Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
- CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
- Hours: Must be available to work the following shift: 7 AM - 7:30 PM (Weekends)Must be available to attend the full orientation: Week 1: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM Week 2: M & Tu 9 AM - 5 PM
