Paraeducator / One-on-One / Classroom Assistant The role of a Paraeducator in a one-on-one classroom setting is to support the instructional program by assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students within a special education environment. Responsibilities include aiding in the implementation of instructional plans, monitoring student behavior, and providing information to relevant school staff. This position reports to the Special Education Teacher and the Principal. About Us We are a Non Public School specializing in special education located in San Jose. Experience with Positive Behavior Interventions, ABA therapy, and writing social stories, with RBT certification, is an advantage. Essential Functions Provides behavioral management and academic support within the classroom to the Classroom Teacher by performing duties that assess, monitor, and manage student actions, ensuring their readiness to engage in class activities. Addresses and de-escalates crisis situations in the classroom by mediating conflicts among students and/or staff, teaching effective and healthy conflict resolution, and applying behavioral principles and positive interventions consistently in all student interactions, while maintaining accurate and reliable data for all treatment areas. Assists students, as necessary, in acquiring academic and/or suitable life skills.
