OUR STRATEGY TEAM

The Kinship Strategy and Insights team is a multifaceted group guiding the strategic direction of the full Kinship ecosystem. Our team of strategists and operators partner with internal and external stakeholders to build a rich understanding of the pets and pet parents that power our businesses. We are using an evolving, cutting edge tech stack to help us ingest, process, model and democratize diverse data assets and are looking for someone to champion the use of data in our strategic decision making.

We are looking for a Manager of Strategy and Business Insights to drive new insights about our business growth and customer base. Working cross-functionally with product, marketing and finance, you will have the opportunity to shape our corporate strategy and product roadmap with your insights for several of our Kinship brands. This position will be located out of our NY office and offers a hybrid work environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Develop and sustain a data driven decision making culture 

• Conduct detailed business analysis including data interpretation and trend identification.
• Oversee the planning, coordination, organization, and execution of business insights, including dashboards, reports, and opportunity sizing analyses. 
• Proactively identify opportunities to leverage data in new ways that deliver insight and enhance decision-making. Translate and contextualize findings to provide decision support and planning information, including highlighting key findings and their implications for action. 
• Remain current on industry trends impacting pets, pet parents, and stay current on new business intelligence tools and strategies.

Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to inform ongoing operations

• Own executive dashboard and data reporting to bring visibility into operational performance and ensure alignment from cross-functional leaders.
• Develop data-driven management tools, such as scorecards and dashboards, in support of key processes across our businesses. Work with cross-functional partners to define desired outcomes and business requirements of analyses, data visualization and other reporting.
• Partner proactively across the Kinship business and product teams to surface insights and influence how the organization thinks about our challenges while developing data-driven solutions that support strategic goals.
• Take initiative to answer the question behind the question – we are looking for people who are always asking “why are we asking this question?” and provide insights
• Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's data sources and systems

THE SKILLS YOU WILL NEED:

• 7 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, or management consulting
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Statistics)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• You have hands-on experience with common analytical approaches and statistical techniques in measuring the success and understanding drivers in subscription businesses (churn prediction, LTV, forecasting, A/B testing, etc.). 
• You have expertise in data visualization tools like Looker & Tableau and know when to apply best practices in data modeling/warehousing when needed 
• You enjoy engaging stakeholders of various seniority in complex organizations and in changing environments; experience working with strategic finance and product teams are a plus 
• You show empathy to both technical and non-technical audiences – you value leaving strong documentation of your work for others
