SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking a driven Project Manager for our building services team. The Project Manager will be responsible for running projects along the I-81 corridor from Shippensburg, PA to Harrisonburg, VA. Previous knowledge with self-performed concrete, framing, and finishes is highly preferred as well as a familiarity with all trades involved in building construction.
A successful candidate shall have a minimum of five years of commercial building related project management experience, along with an Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent background with applicable experience.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawings.
- Review, organize, maintain, and process contract documents and shop drawings.
- Originate and/or review, submit, log and distribute RFI’s and the RFI responses
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Work closely with operations to optimize field staff and construction means and methods.
- Must be willing to direct and enforce job site safety.
- Oversee field supervision and assist in monitoring job site quality.
- Responsible for submittals and project documentation.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and material vendors.
- Interface with clients to effectively communicate progress of the project and manage contractual obligations.
- Maintain client relations as needed for repeat business.
- Acute attention to detail and experience with deadlines pursuant to schedule as well as coordination of phasing or sequencing of work.
- Daily travel may be required, overnight travel is not anticipated.
- Perform other related duties as required.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- A four-year degree in engineering or construction management.
- 5 years of experience as a project manager in the commercial building construction sector.
- Knowledge of local area and clientele.
- Proficiency in Primavera (P6) is required.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- A willingness to learn is required.
- Knowledge of both OSHA safety regulations is preferred.
