SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join our growing team in York, PA. The Steel Detailer is responsible for generating detailed shop drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals and plate weldments as needed for our heavy industrial market sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience.
A successful candidate should possess applicable detailing experience, strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawings
- Assist Field Foreman and Project Managers with field data collection
- Receive project drawings and develop detailed shop drawings for approval
- Develop and respond to RFI’s as needed during detailing phases
- Interact with project management staff and shop foreman to develop details to optimize both shop and field productivity
- Compile review comments and issue for fabrication drawings
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Extreme attention to detail and experience with tight deadlines
REQUIREMENTS
- Technical Education certificate or degree in CAD or related field
- 2 - 5 years of experience as a structural and misc. metals detailer
- Knowledge of AISC Standards and Industrial codes and symbols
- Must be familiar with 3D environments and detailing software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Knowledge of industrial processes and material handling equipment is preferred
