Principal Project Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement all engineering facets of substation projects, including equipment design, contractor coordination, and testing.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership for complex substation projects
- Analyze operational and test data to establish benchmarks for newly designed or modified equipment, ensuring compliance with performance specifications.
- Serve as the go-to expert for resolving design issues, providing leadership and consultation across divisions.
- Lead significant design projects by coordinating efforts with internal teams, external contractors, and other divisions.
- Conduct training sessions to share knowledge and enhance team expertise in products, technologies, and best practices.
- Review and define the scope of development tasks, provide input for company development planning, and serve as the technical consultant for complex challenges.
- Establish schedules, prioritize tasks, and assign staffing resources with the Engineering Manager to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare time and manpower estimates for engineering efforts on proposals and project orders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 10 years of experience in project-based environments.
- Substation Expertise with advanced knowledge of substation theory, applications, subsystems, field installation, and testing.
- Proficiency in CAD, engineering analysis software, and MS Office tools for design and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, prioritize tasks, and collaborate across diverse groups.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with customers and represent the company professionally.
Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
