This non-exempt position is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to dental patient care under the direction of dental providers. The DA II will be involved in both clinical and administrative areas, which include assisting providers with patient care and managing minimal clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Additionally, this role involves providing information to patients to help them fully utilize and benefit from dental services.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Education
Completion of one academic year or more in an ADA-accredited dental program.
Licensure
Certification in coronal polishing, radiographic proficiency, and nitrous oxide sedation is a plus.
Certifications
Current BLS, OSHA, and HIPAA certifications are required.

Key Responsibilities
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Ensure rooms are stocked and ready for the provider's arrival for patient treatment.
- Properly take and develop X-rays (radiographs).
- Mix, prepare, and provide all materials and instruments as requested by the provider.
- Set up and organize instruments prior to appointments.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Accurately update and maintain patient dental records in the electronic dental record (EDR) system.
- Maintain proper sterilization and tray setup.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, HIPAA, and PPE regulations.
