Title : Pharmacist Manager
Summary of Position
The pharmacist-manager is legally responsible for the operation of the pharmacy and ensuring that it complies with all state and federal laws and regulations. This individual oversees all aspects of pharmacy operations, including staffing, inventory management, recordkeeping, quality assurance, security pharmacy, clinical functions, and integrity of the pharmacy by ensuring that all staff members adhere to proper procedures and protocols.
The pharmacist-manager is responsible for the safe and effective distribution of, control over and accountability for drugs, including intravenous and irrigation solutions. The pharmacist-manager may delegate responsibilities to other staff for ordering, distributing, and accounting for pharmaceutical materials (inventory) to achieve this purpose.
Ultimately, the duties of the Pharmacist-Manager must adhere to NC PHARMACY RULES / NORTH CAROLINA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE TITLE 21 – OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS CHAPTER 46 - BOARD OF PHARMACY
Pharmacist Manager Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all Pharmacy Operations comply with all state and federal laws
- Oversees all aspects of Pharmacy Operations including staffing, inventory management, record-keeping, quality assurance, and security for the pharmacy
- Responsible for the safe and effective distribution and control over accountability for drugs, including intravenous and irrigation solutions
- Coordinate and implement the training of Pharmacy Technicians
