The Resident Life Coordinator is a full-time team member. Along with the Director of Resident Life, they will serve as the primary resource for the psychosocial needs of residents who live in Independent Living. The position focuses on creating meaningful relationships with residents over the course of their life at Glenaire. The Resident Life Coordinator works with the Resident Life and Life Enrichment teams to facilitate a full and active community life for residents of Independent Living.
Responsibilities:
- Assess new residents before they are accepted to move to Glenaire.
- Assist with New Resident Orientation.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for IL resident questions and concerns.
- Provide information about and referrals to community resources.
- Facilitate transitions between levels of care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Work closely with chaplains to provide information and support at times of crisis, such as hospitalization or new, serious medical diagnosis. Provide support to caregivers and the bereaved through supportive counseling, support groups and/or referral to community resources.
- Attend committee meetings for Resident Association committees supported by the Resident Life team. Work with these committees on their projects as needed.
- Work on special community projects, such as Rise Against Hunger.
- Participate in IDT and other community meetings as appropriate.
Education:
- An MSW preferred
- Education and/or experience in social work or related human service field strongly preferred.
