Commissioning Engineer - Mobile Automation (Remote)

As a Mobile Automation Commissioning Engineer with KION North America you will be the technical, on-site lead for automated guided forklift (AGF) projects. You will be an essential member of the project engineering team with a focus on integration of automated material handling equipment systems. Your focus will be on the AGFs, their performance, and their interactions with racking, conveyor, system I / O and system software. Internally, you will support the project manager, the systems engineer, onboard and offboard software engineers, and the mechatronics engineers / technicians. Externally, you will further develop and maintain relationships with the Customer project team as their technical, on-site integration contact during the execution / commissioning phases of projects.

This role can be based anywhere in the United States, near a major airport.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Work with engineering leads on technical design, development, application and implementation of integrated hardware and software systems
• Identify and resolves complex problems through application of problem-solving skills in AGF projects / systems
• Participate in the testing of complex stand-alone and integrated AGF systems (hardware and software)
• Review and utilize project / vehicle / hardware specifications and documentation
• Utilize AutoCAD with custom drafting tools for designing and refining system maps / layouts
• Work with Customers on Full System Approval, and Acceptance
• Collaborate with vendor and sub-contractors
• Generate commissioning checklists and provide daily / weekly site reports
• Perform duration testing and generate / compile reports
• Aid Project Management in Commissioning Plans and Schedules
• Support site personnel in system Startup and Go-Live activities
• Develop strong customer relationships
• Collaborate on process and productivity improvements, cost reductions, and delivery of customer satisfaction
• Other tasks as assigned by manager
