Tasks and Qualifications :
Design, develop, and implement the direct material procurement strategy based on the different categories with aim to improve material availability. Develop and lead PFEP within the business. Own inventory plan for the spend. Identify and drive continuous improvement projects within the business to improve supplier OTD, reduce LT, reduce inventory etc. Define and track KPIs to ensure controls are being maintained to deliver world-class service to internal and external customers. Work with global SIOP team to develop forecast for inbound materials. Carry out risk mitigation plans to avoid production shortages in conjunction with procurement teams. Monitor expedite costs. Work closely with procurement organization to assure strategies in line with category are implemented while balancing operational needs. Drive SCAR, 8D improvements in-conjunction with supplier quality engineer and procurement. Improve utilization of SAP and other standard business tools within the tactical organization. Ensure quality policy and objectives are being upheld in line with KION policies for inbound materials. Leverage factory quality resources, supplier development teams to improve key quality matrix as needed. Follow and comply with all rules of environment, health, and safety. Encourage similar culture within the department. Follow Compliance Policy and ensure adherence of the policy within the department.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or closely related field and 3 years’ experience as a Material Planner, Production Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or closely related occupation in a project-based manufacturing setting. Also requires 3 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); material planning process, demand forecasting, and inventory management; advanced transactions and reports in SAP applications including Warehouse Management, Yard Management, and Inbound Logistics; creating systems models, specifications, analysis of current situation and improvement plans to eliminate inefficiencies and loss; and lean six sigma continuous improvement projects. Pre-employment processing requires drug testing and background checks. Up to 10% travel required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
